At dawn on Friday, June 13, 2025, Israel conducted a large-scale attack on Iran, targeting critical nuclear facilities and assassinating several IRGC leaders and nuclear scientists. This scenario closely followed the prediction made by Dr. Mohammad Walid Youssef, president of the International Center for Geopolitical and Economic Research, on February 21, 2025, when he forecasted that Israel would launch a major attack on Iran in the latter half of 2025\u2014a year he deemed pivotal for Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Israel launched a large-scale air strike against Iran, involving over 200 warplanes that targeted key locations deep within Iranian territory, including nuclear sites, strategic military installations, and the IRGC command centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strikes caused the deaths of Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces’ General Staff; Major General Hossein Salami, IRGC commander; Maj. Gen. Gholam Ali Rashid, commander of the \u201cKhatam al-Anbiya\u201d complex; and several notable nuclear scientists at the targeted locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the launch of the 2024 Annual Geopolitical Report by the International Center for Geopolitical and Economic Research, Dr. Youssef stated that “2025 will be a pivotal year for Iran, as it braces for the coming war initiated by Israel\u2014with backing from the United States. This conflict is expected to be significant, leading to a regional Sunni\u2013Shia war following Israel’s expected attack on Iran in the latter half of 2025. Ultimately, this will likely escalate into a broader Iranian\u2013Turkish conflict.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added: \u201cIn this extensive conflict, if Iran persists, it could recover some of its regional geopolitical gains in 2024. However, if it cannot endure the upcoming war, the Iranian regime risks facing a fate similar to Saddam Hussein\u2019s regime in Iraq in 2003 and Bashar al-Assad\u2019s regime in Syria in December 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the International Center for Geopolitical and Economic Studies, we are working to shift politics from an art based on probabilities and speculation to a science based on rules, harnessing classical and quantum political analysis to interpret international relations and geostrategic equations. We aim to identify and isolate geopolitical facts to become able to control and restructure them.
