If the U.S. succeeds in gaining control over Venezuela\u2019s massive oil reserves\u2014along with its own shale oil boom of the past decade\u2014it could fundamentally reshape the global energy market. This shift would break the dominance of OPEC and Gulf Arab oil producers over global supplies, especially considering the sanctions\u2014both international and unilateral\u2014that limit Iran\u2019s oil and gas exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
