Dr. Youssef’s Prediction Comes True: Iran Gears Up to Join Saudi-Pakistan Alliance

Iran has expressed approval of the recent joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, indicating its openness to joining the alliance. This development was accurately predicted weeks in advance by Dr. Mohammad Walid Youssef, President of the International Center for Geopolitical, Economic, and AI Studies (ICGER).
In his September 22, 2025, article, “Israel: Between Conventional Iranian Missiles and the Saudi-Pakistani Nuclear Threat,”Dr. Youssef wrote that “if Iran becomes convinced that this alliance is aimed solely at containing the Israeli threat, it could very well choose to join it.”
The statement from Tehran came from Major General Rahim Safavi, a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, who told Iran’s SNN network that the agreement between Riyadh and Islamabad was positive and proposed that Iran, Iraq, and others also participate. “Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iraq can reach a collective defense pact,” he said, while acknowledging that US influence over Riyadh and Islamabad may limit such moves.[i]
Dr. Youssef highlighted the same reasoning in his analysis of the Saudi–Pakistani agreement: “If Iran becomes certain that this alliance’s real goal is to contain the Israeli threat, it may decide to join.”
He also warned that this could put Israel in a “strategically risky position, facing Iran’s advanced missile arsenal along with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities,” adding that “Israel already tested Iran’s missile systems during their last confrontation in June 2025.”
